The former head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk Paulo Fonseca, who is now coaching the French Lille, once again expressed support for Ukraine.
“The war found me in Ukraine, but when I look back, I understand that what I had to endure is nothing compared to what people who are in Ukraine have been experiencing all this time. The tragedy is so great that I simply do not have the right to talk about my experience - Ukrainians experience this tragedy every day.
The rest of the world is not making enough efforts to help Ukraine, to save Ukrainians who are fighting for their lives. This is the most difficult thing for me in all of this.
I also find it hard to accept how we could have let this happen. We must do much more, otherwise many more people and children will die.
Ukrainians are very modest and very hardworking. They just want to live in the world. When in June 2016 Shakhtar offered me a job as a coach, it was an easy decision for me, ”Coaches’ Voice quotes Fonseca.
