The Football Association of Zambia has announced on its official resources the appointment of former Chelsea coach Avram Grant as the head coach of the national team.
The 67-year-old specialist was appointed to the position that remained vacant after the resignation of Alyosha Asanovich in September.
We will remind that in the period from 2014 to 2017, Grant led another African national team, Ghana. Together with the West Africans, the coach reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 and also reached the semi-finals in 2017. If Grant can lead Zambia to the final round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, it will be seen as an achievement as the 2012 champions have not participated in the last three tournaments.
