Crystal Palace head coach and former France international Patrick Vieira has spoken about Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez's taunting of French forward Kylian Mbappe after the 2022 World Cup final.
"If we talk about the insults and negative comments directed at Mbappe after the World Cup, I think it is not only damaging to him, but also to football in general. Those photos of the Argentine goalkeeper that appeared in the media slightly overshadow the success that the Argentine national team achieved at the World Cup. I don't think it was really necessary. You can't control other people's emotions and decisions, but it was ridiculous behavior on Martinez's part," the Mirror quoted Vieira as saying.
