More than a month ago, all European football was put on hold due to the start of the World Cup in Qatar. The 2022 World Cup ended on December 18, and all major European leagues will resume in the near future.
A number of national championships resumed even before the end of the World Cup (for example, in Greece and Cyprus), but the top leagues in Europe, many of whose clubs are represented by football players who played in Qatar, were forced to pause in order to provide the "compilations" with at least a minimal rest.
England will be the first to come out of the pause (already today), and the clubs of Italy and Germany will return to their national championships later: Serie A will resume on January 4, and the Bundesliga on January 20.
Europe's top leagues resumption calendar
Premier League: 26 December
French Championship: December 28
Portuguese Championship: 28 December
Spanish Championship: 29 December
Italian Championship: January 4
German Championship: January 20
We add that competitions in the lower divisions of the countries will also resume at the same time.
