Karim Benzema's agent approached France head coach Didier Deschamps and said the forward could play in the 2022 World Cup playoffs. The 2022 Ballon d'Or winner was injured in training and was sent home before the start of the tournament in Qatar.
"I consulted with three specialists who confirmed the diagnosis that Benzema was ready for the matches of the 1/8 finals of the 2022 World Cup, to at least be on the bench. Why did you ask him to leave so soon?" Karim Jaziri wrote to himself on Twitter.
