Honorary President of Vorskla Zhevago, at the request of Ukraine, was detained in a French resort

The honorary president of the Poltava "Vorskla" Konstantin Zhevago was detained in France at the request of Ukraine. It happened at a local ski resort.

“Today, at the request of investigators, the DBR managed to detain Konstantin Zhevago in Courchevel. He is a defendant in several criminal proceedings of the DBR, and documents for extradition are being prepared now,” said Tatyana Sapyan, communications adviser at the State Bureau of Investigation.

In 2019, the DBR announced Zhevago’s suspicion in absentia of being involved in a scheme to embezzle 2.5 billion hryvnias from the Finance and Credit bank through offshore companies, after which he was put on the wanted list.

The ex-deputy has not returned to the territory of Ukraine over the past three years.
