As already reported, yesterday the owner and honorary president of the Poltava Vorskla Konstantin Zhevago was detained in France at the request of Ukraine. The court of the French city of Chambéry ruled on the extradition arrest of a Ukrainian fugitive oligarch.
A source: press service of the State Bureau of Investigation and people in the Office of the Prosecutor General in comments to Ukrayinska Pravda
Details: The decision was made on December 28.
The businessman will be under arrest while French law enforcement agencies are considering Ukraine's extradition request for his extradition.
Sources in the UCP reported that Zhevago must spend the next 40 days in custody.
The drama of the situation is added by the fact that a day ago, on December 28, Zhevago’s yacht “Z” was waiting for the owner near the airport in the Maldives. This may indicate that the oligarch was going to fly to the islands to celebrate the New Year.
