The Ukrainian striker of the Polish Cracovia Yevhen Konoplyanka spoke about how his transfer from Dnipro to the English Liverpool failed a few years ago.
- Liverpool were confident that Dnipro would not reject the £25 million offer. Moreover, I had only six months left on the contract - that is, everything was for the fact that I had to be given away. Especially considering the fact that I gave Dnipro what I could, and also thanked the club for raising me.
But the transfer window was already ending, and nothing happened. I remember Liverpool somehow managed to extend it by an hour. I asked the club management to let me go, saying that it was about my dream. Persuaded as best he could.
As far as I know, Dnipro wanted to receive the entire amount instantly, while Liverpool needed several days to finalize the deal.
When my transfer failed, Liverpool representatives were in shock: “How is it? How much then do you have to pay?" Konoplyanka said on the air of the Youtube channel "Vlada Sedan".
