Arsenal have exercised the option to extend defender William Salib's contract for 12 months until June 2024, reports The Athletic.
The rights to the French footballer have belonged to the Gunners since 2019, but the player spent the previous three seasons in Ligue 1 on loan. Saliba has become a key player for Arsenal this season, forming a strong defensive link with Gabriel.
Salib's contract extension option was activated a few days ago. Thus, the Londoners left other clubs with the opportunity to negotiate with the player starting in January. In turn, the management of "Arsenal" continues to negotiate with William about a new long-term contract.
