Football players arrested in Iran for drinking at New Year's party with women

Several Iranian football players were arrested last Saturday, December 31, according to RMC Sport.

According to the source, all these players violated several laws of their country. They were at a New Year's party in the city of Damavend, where they took alcohol, and women also participated in the event.

The names of the detainees are not specified, it is only reported that one of the arrested is a former football player of "one of the main clubs in Tehran."

Note that the sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited in Iran.
