Portugal's Benfica are under investigation for alleged match-fixing between 2016 and 2020, according to local media.
The investigation into match-fixing began with the access of the prosecutor's office to the club's email. The Eagles can be accused of profiting from several fraudulent results during the period in question. In particular, the boss of the club, Rui Costa, is under investigation.
Benfica has already issued an official statement in which it expressed its full readiness to cooperate with the competent authorities, but at the same time stated that it would not comment further until the completion of the investigation process.
