Expert: "This type of striker, like Yaremchuk, is more for Italy, Germany, England"

Expert Alex Velikikh assessed the situation of Ukrainian national team striker Roman Yaremchuk in Belgian Brugge.

Roman Yaremchuk

- Yaremchuk's situation is very difficult. However, he is a centre-forward and lives by goals that he realizes with the help of partners' passes. He made a name for himself in Belgium, and his transition to the new championship was considered by many, including myself, as a natural, well-deserved and necessary step forward, but for me personally the transition to Portugal surprised me. Not because Benfica is not a top team, but because such a type of striker as Yaremchuk is more for Italy, Germany, England than for Spain or Portugal. But still, even Portugal was a step forward compared to Belgium. Nevertheless, I thought that the transition there would be only intermediate before getting into the conditional Premier League. However, it did not grow together in Benfica and not through the fault of the player. There are a number of questions to both the coach and the club's sports management on Roman.

The return to Belgium was an unpleasant moment for the footballer. Brugge, Gent, Genk, it doesn't matter which club, the important thing is that this is the same championship from which Roman left, and now he again had to return to the country from which he said goodbye. His last unrealized moments speak precisely of the psychological decline in the game, and nothing else. I think we should pull ourselves together and try to return to the goalscorers in order to go further. I think, after all, Serie A can be a great chance for a player. Forwards of this type are in demand in Italy, Velikikh said in an interview with 1927.kiev.ua.
