Broadcasters of the 2022 World Cup were ordered to show Infantino at least once per match, but except for frames when he looked

Broadcast directors of the 2022 World Cup had to show FIFA President Gianni Infantino at least once per match, but not footage when he was looking at his phone, according to The Times.

Broadcasters received directives before the tournament regarding the portrayal of Infantino in broadcasts. These documents came from the Swiss company HBS, which is responsible for TV coverage of the World Cup.

The directive stated that if Infantino was sitting next to the sheikh, then for reasons of cultural sensitivity, they should not use his footage below the knee.

There was one incident where a footage of Infantino was used while he was holding a phone in his hand, which resulted in a warning from the broadcast director.
