The Russian media publish a statement by an unnamed "source in the RFU familiar with the situation" about the alleged results of a meeting with a delegation of the UEFA leadership on the possibility of unbanning swamp football.

“The leadership of European football assured the Russian delegation that they consider the RFU a member of the UEFA family. The leadership of UEFA and the RFU agree with the common position that it is necessary to resolve the issue of the gradual return of Russian teams to international competitions. It is possible that the first steps will be the return of youth and women's teams," said the anonymous source.

Also in Russia they say that "the next face-to-face meeting with the participation of representatives of the RFU and UEFA will take place in February."
