Former striker of Zorya Luhansk Serhiy Grin recalled the period of his career in this team, and also shared his impressions of working under her ex-mentor Viktor Skrypnyk.
“Viktor Skripnik is a good coach. But it happens that it's not your team, style of play or tactics. Under Skripnik, Zorya played with a diamond in the center of the field and two forwards. With this style of play, it is easier for me to play on the flank, but there was no such position. If the team plays on the counterattacks, then it's better for me to play on the attack, look for zones, give speed. They just didn't fit together, it happens.
As for Skrypnyk, his methods of work are clearly different from other Ukrainian coaches with whom I crossed paths. He has a European approach - training is not for two, not for three hours, but, for example, an hour or ten, but intense, interesting, football. It’s a thrill to train with him,” said Grin.
