Nikita Shevchenko: “My parents are in Gorlovka, I haven’t seen them for four years”

Oleksandriya goalkeeper Nikita Shevchenko said that his parents are now forced to live in Russian-occupied territory.

Nikita Shevchenko

- You are from Gorlovka, which has been occupied for almost nine years, do you have relatives there, do you communicate?

— Yes, my parents are in Gorlovka now.

— What is the situation there now?

- War. It's very hard, people survive. My parents are there because my grandmother doesn't go and they look after her. They cannot leave her. I have not seen my mother and father for four years, except perhaps by video call. There are problems with water, my dad goes to the mine. Everything seems to be fine with the light.

— When do you think the war will end?

- I hope that it will end as soon as possible with our victory. The first thing I will do after its completion is go to Gorlovka to visit relatives.
