Well-known journalist Mykola Nesenyuk touched on the topic of the fact that recently, during public communication, coaches from the homeland have switched to the Ukrainian language.
"It was in December 2009 at a press conference on the eve of the Champions League match between Dynamo and Barcelona in Kyiv. A full hall of journalists and other members of the public gathered to see the famous Josep Guardiola.
The coach of the Catalan team answered the journalists' questions in Catalan, which caused the indignation of the "Ukrainian" part of the public. Because the invited Ukrainian translator did not speak Catalan, but to demand from the glorious Guardiola that he switched from his native Catalan to "commonly understood" Spanish, the "outraged" journalists somehow did not dare.
In the end, everyone somehow got along. And Guardiola later became the coach of the German "Bavaria", and now heads the English "Manchester City".
Then every time I remembered the episode when another Ukrainian coach spoke at the press conference "Guardiola on the contrary", speaking not his native Ukrainian, but you know what it is. Everything changed a year ago - our coaches suddenly remembered their native language.
And it helped! Russian-speaking coach Oleksandr Petrakov, after becoming the coach of the national team of Ukraine, began to speak at press conferences in his native language and achieved success - after completing his work with the national team of Ukraine, he was invited to lead the national team of Armenia. Of course, this is not Manchester City, but Petrakov is not Guardiola either. The main thing is that the recipe for success is correct!" Nesenyuk wrote on his Facebook page.
