In a bitter struggle, Everton defeated Arsenal with a score of 1:0. Butterscotch took the lead in the 60th minute when defender Yu. Tarkovsky hit the net. At the 59th minute of the match, Arsenal made a double substitution, releasing T. Parti and G. Martinelli instead of L. Trossard and Jorginho, respectively. Just five minutes later, Everton also made a substitution, with D. Calvert-Lewin replacing N. Mope. Things went awry as the match progressed and cards were shown from both sides as Everton's V. Mikolenko was cautioned in the 63rd minute and A. Onana in the 69th. Arsenal made their third substitution in the 77th minute: M. Odegaard replaced F. Vieira. Then, in the 85th minute, Everton made the last substitution of the match, changing B. White to T. Tomiyasu. The end of the match was overshadowed by cards: J. Pickford and N. Mope from Everton received yellow cards, and O. Zinchenko from Arsenal followed in the 90th minute. In the end, Everton went on to triumph over their London rivals 1–0.
