Former striker of "Dynamo" Kyiv, "Dnipro" and the national team of Ukraine Roman Zozulya spoke about recent insults from Spanish fans.
"It's time to write about the recent situation with fans. I read the comments and many people are waiting for me to express my opinion on this matter.
I am comfortable with the fact that someone may or may not like my professional activity. I'm not a borscht to be loved by everyone. But here the situation is different. When I moved to Spain, some "left" members of Spanish clubs decided that I was a "fascist" and a "Nazi" because I supported the volunteer battalions that defend Ukraine.
And also for the photo on the background of the portrait of Stepan Bandera and the photo from the front line, where I went to visit our heroes. After the full-scale invasion and all the atrocities committed by the Russians on our land, it seemed to me that the curtain had fallen and everyone now understood that Russia is a terrorist country. But it turned out that there are still many narrow-faced ones. At the last match, there were insulting chants not only from the fan sector, but also from ordinary fans: "Putin will beat you, we are for Putin, Zuzulya is a Nazi."
Does it affect me? So. Not as a football player, but as a citizen. It's a pity that the eyes of these people have never been opened. And they are still convinced that there is no war in our country, but some kind of operation. That people don't die, and all the news is staged and fake.
I understand that all this is the consequences of Kremlin propaganda, which is still powerfully working and continues to infect and eat their brains.
And I have neither the desire nor the strength to constantly reflect on such situations. However, I hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and our consulate will pay attention to them.
And I will continue to play and support my country and the Armed Forces. Thanks to everyone who cares and helps - you guys are incredible. Let's go further. We are working. Let's celebrate," Zozulya wrote on his Instagram page.
