— You headed Metalist 1925 at the height of the season. Weren't you afraid to return to a country in which there is a war?
- In no case. On the contrary, I wanted to do something to help Ukraine and support its people. Of course, my wife was against my move, but I managed to convince her. And there was no fear. In this regard, I am a fatalist - it will be as it will be.
My Ukrainian friends know very well how much I love Ukraine and how grateful I am to it for what I have become in the end. I have been here since 2002. He married here, children were born here, his career passed here.
- Does your family stay in the United States?
- At first, my wife and children were in the USA, then they left for Brazil, where they are now.
— By the way, what do your Brazilian and American acquaintances say about the war in Ukraine?
“They don’t understand why I came back here, but at the same time, everyone supports Ukraine and wishes it victory in this war.
