The head of the Spanish La Liga, Javier Tebas, reacted to the information that the founding clubs of the football Super League are going to restart this project.
“The proposed model is undemocratic. Only a few rich clubs get power, while small and medium teams get only the right to vote. They say the league will be 100% open, but the reality is that a few wealthy clubs are the only ones who will benefit from it.
National leagues are at risk of ceasing to exist due to the Super League format, because it does not provide for the possibility of obtaining tickets to it by winning achievements in their championships.
If such a Super League becomes a reality, then football as we know it will die, ”Tebas is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
