Hatayspor withdrew from the Turkish championship after the devastating earthquake that hit the country this week. This was stated by the President of the Turkish Union of Clubs Ali Koch.

Hatayspor's Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu has gone missing as a result of the cataclysm. According to the Turkish Anadolu agency, the sports director of the club, Taner Savut, also went missing (possibly under the rubble).

After 21 rounds of the Turkish Super League, Hatayspor is in 14th place in the standings.

It is reported that Gaziantep may also withdraw from the Turkish championship.
