The match of the 23rd round of the English Championship against "Leeds" (2:0) was the 400th for the Spanish footballer in the "Red Devils". No non-British player has played for more than one club in the Premier League. De Gea has equaled Gary Neville in the number of Premier League appearances for United, but is still 232 games short of Ryan Giggs' all-time record.

De Gea is one of eight non-British players to have played 400 Premier League games, but the others have all represented multiple clubs during their careers at Misty Albion: Mark Schwarzer (514), Sylvain Distin (469), Brad Friedel (450), Shay Given (450), John O'Shea (445), Petr Cech (443), Jussi Jaaskelainen (436) and Richard Dunn (431).
