Barcelona may be deducted points or even expelled from La Liga

Barcelona may be deducted points or expelled from La Liga. This will happen if the prosecutor's office proves the fact of corruption - the club's cooperation with the former vice-president of the Spanish Football Federation's refereeing committee, Bolavip reports.

The source informs that the Spanish prosecutor's office is investigating the fact that Barcelona paid €1.4 million to the former vice-president of the Spanish Football Federation's refereeing committee, Jose Maria Henriques Negreira, through the DASNIL 95 company between 2016 and 2018. However, Negreira and the Catalans claim that the club used consulting services.

It is known that Barcelona received technical reports in video format on young players from other Spanish clubs, verbal advice on the working methods of professional referees and recommendations on how to communicate with them in different situations.

The club is currently not accused of anything, but if the investigation proves corruption, Barcelona faces punishment: deduction of points, a fine or expulsion from La Liga.
