Gasperini: "This is why Atalanta is not a top club"

The head coach of "Atalanta", Gian Piero Gasperini, commented on the team's defeat in the match of the 23rd round of the Italian championship against "Lecce" (1:2).

"We had a lot of chances, we pressed well, but everything went wrong. We always seem to concede in the first few minutes of the match and if that keeps happening then obviously that's our problem. Top-level teams do not allow themselves to do this regularly.

In games like this, it all depends on how we start. Sometimes we create too many problems for ourselves and Lecce are a team that is very good at neutralizing attacks, especially when they are leading. We had chances, we created dangerous situations, but we lacked sharpness, both physical and psychological," Gasperini was quoted as saying by Sky Sport Italia.

After 23 rounds of Serie A, Atalanta is in sixth place in the standings with 41 points.
