Artem Frankov: “I don’t understand the logic of bookmakers in assessing the chances of Dnipro-1...”

Well-known Ukrainian journalist Artem Frankov shared his prediction for the return match of the 1/16 finals of the Conference League between Dnipro-1 and Cypriot AEK. Recall that the first meeting of the opponents ended with the victory of the team from Larnaca with a score of 1:0.

Artem Frankov

“In the first match, AEK minimally won at home 1-0, scored at the end of the meeting. Dnepr-1 also had its chances, but to be objective and fair, the Cypriots should have scored more than one goal. They had many more moments. From the game of Dnipro-1, it was noticeable that they lack game practice, game tone due to a break in the championship, and the absence of official matches. This is the so-called "spring syndrome", despite the fact that it is February.

What are the chances for Dnipro-1 to recoup? Bookmakers do not believe in our team. They give a coefficient of 3.20 for the Ukrainian club to reach the 1/8 finals. I consider this coefficient very attractive, because in regular time only 2.20 is given for the victory of Dnipro-1 - I don’t understand the logic of the bookmakers. Do they consider the AEK goalkeeper very good in the penalty shootout? Don't know.

If we “expel” the fan of Ukrainian football from ourselves, then indeed, the passage of Dnipro-1 seems to be a very attractive and realistic option. Only 1.74 gives AEK not to lose in the second leg. Therefore, if you are already playing against Dnipro-1, then it is logical to bet on the guests to win, that they will be able to catch ours on counterattacks, something like this - 3.45 odds for this.

But I advise you to take the Dnepr-1 passage for 3.20. Yes, maybe it's not objective somewhere, maybe it's because I'm Ukrainian. Of course, I will support Dnipro-1, despite its history, despite the fact that I myself am from Kharkov, etc. But there is also the logic of the player, there is the attractiveness of the coefficients. Therefore, we are taking the passage of Dnipro-1, we are worried about our team, we are rooting for Ukraine!” Frankov said.
