Anderson: "People don't know the real Cristiano Ronaldo"

Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson recalled his time at Old Trafford with Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Ronaldo surprised me every time. His mind was always on football. The game would end and he would immediately go home to recover. He is an incredible professional and a great friend. People don't know it, but he helps a lot. He has a big heart. Cristiano took us to training, took care of us.

If I had 5% of Ronaldo's mentality, I could be one of the best in the world. I know that now. I had a good career because I won a lot, but I could have gone much further. You have to be honest. With five percent of Cristiano... I would still be playing at the highest level, easily," Anderson was quoted as saying by the Spanish edition of Sport.

The 34-year-old Brazilian currently holds the position of assistant head coach of Turkish side Adana Demirspor Vincenzo Montella.
