In the 12th minute, Fiorentina opened the scoring with a goal by A. Baraka at the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi Stadium. After the goal the teams exchanged yellow cards: J. Doig was sent off for Verona and Igor was sent off for Fiorentina in the 24th and 30th minutes respectively. On 34 minutes, Verona received another yellow card as D.
