Soccer fans around the world watched an exciting match between Lazio and AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League at the Stadio Olimpico. The game was full of exciting moments and neither team gave up until the very end. The game was 1-1 at halftime but AZ Alkmaar came out on top, 1-2. Lazio scored first on 18 minutes thanks to Pedro's goal. The Spaniard hit the net with a great shot from outside the box to the delight of the home team. However, their lead was short-lived. Just before the end of the first half, AZ Alkmaar equalized thanks to a goal from V. Pavlidis. The Greek forward showed great composure in the penalty area and shot past the keeper. This goal gave his team some much-needed momentum and made the game even at halftime. After the break, Lazio made a substitution, releasing N. Casale instead of A. Romagnoli. However, the next strike came from AZ Alkmaar. On 62 minutes, M. Kerkez put his team ahead by a stunning long-range strike.
His shot was too strong for the Lazio goalkeeper who could only watch the ball fly into the net. Lazio tried to get back into the game by making two substitutions in the 70th minute. Pedro was replaced by M. Cancellieri and D. Cataldi made way for M. Vecino. However, despite their best efforts, they failed to equalize. As the game progressed, AZ Alkmaar made a flurry of substitutions to refresh their team. V. Pavlidis was replaced by M. Meerdink, J. Karlsson came on instead of M. van Brederode, M. Kerkez gave way to M. de Wit, and J. Odgaard replaced D. Mihajlovic. These substitutions did wonders for the Dutch team and they managed to keep the lead. Towards the end the game became tense and both teams received yellow cards. J. Clasie and M. Kerkez were sent off for AZ Alkmaar and M. Sarri got a yellow card for Lazio in the 90th minute. In the end, AZ Alkmaar won. They outplayed Lazio in the second half and scored a brilliant goal to seal the victory. The match was a great example of European soccer, and both teams gave it their all. The fans can`t wait to see what awaits them in the remaining matches of the UEFA Europa League.
