Former Dynamo Kyiv and Ukrainian national team forward Roman Zozulya congratulated Ukrainians on Volunteer Day.
"Today we celebrate the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer.
We congratulate and pay tribute to those who, despite everything, took up arms and stood up to defend our country. Many of the volunteers have never handled weapons before. In civilian life, they were managers, bankers, drivers, and IT specialists. But life happened so that these people decided to become volunteers.
To defend their native land and cities.
These guys and girls are heroes for me. They are the ones our children should look up to. People who left everything they had in a peaceful life so that we could continue the life we are used to. And our main task is not to forget who made it possible for us to live.
Let us honor those who gave their lives in this war that has been going on for 9 years. Let's not forget that Russians are not human beings.
Low bow to you, Ukrainian volunteers, strong guys and girls. Many thanks to you!" Zozulya wrote in his telegram channel.
