According to the results of European Cup matches held this week, Ukraine has maintained its position in the UEFA coefficient table.
It should be recalled that of all the representatives of Ukraine in the current European Cup season up until yesterday only Shakhtar Donetsk continued to play. The Pitmen faced the Dutch Feyenoord in the last 16 of the Europa League. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw, and yesterday, in the return leg, the Pitmen suffered a devastating 1-7 defeat and consequently dropped out of the tournament.
Despite such results against Shakhtar, with all the European Cup games played this week Ukraine still occupies 14th place in the UEFA coefficient table. Let us remind you that the countries who sit 1st to 15th in the table delegate two representatives to the Champions League, not one.
And Ukraine is not going to fall below the critical line 15 as of all the countries that are below the coefficient table, only Poland continues European Cup route this season ("Lech" reached the quarterfinals of the Conference League). Moreover, given the current position of Poland (26th place), as well as the composition of the participants in the Conference League quarterfinals, it is unlikely that before the end of the season Ukraine will drop to #15.
Recall that the final table of UEFA coefficients this season will determine the representation of countries in European cups of the season 2024/25.
