Hoffenheim 1899 hosted Hertha Berlin in a Bundesliga match played at the Presereo Arena. The match witnessed an intense battle between the two teams as they battled it out on the field. It was a game of mixed emotions, as one team dominated the first half and the other team rebounded strongly in the second half. The game began with Hoffenheim taking control. In the 24th minute, they awarded a penalty after Hertha Berlin player M. Richter received a yellow card. A. Kramaric calmly hammered the ball into the net, giving Hoffenheim the lead. Just 10 minutes later, another penalty kick was awarded to Hoffenheim, which Kramaric converted again, doubling their lead. By the end of the first half, Hoffenheim clearly dominated. After the break, however, Hertha Berlin regained the lead. Just five minutes after the start of the second half, I. Bebu scored a great goal, thanks to which "Hoffenheim" increased their lead to 3-0.
With the score 3-0, Hertha Berlin made several crucial substitutions, releasing F. Niederlechner and T. Chigerci instead of D. Lucebackio and S. Jovetic respectively. These substitutions paid off as Hertha Berlin started to create good chances. In the 69th minute, Hoffenheim made their first substitution, with K. Baumgartner replacing M. Dubbur. However, after only two minutes, Dabboor was red carded and Hoffenheim was left ten men down. Hertha Berlin took advantage of the extra player and began to press, trying to get back into the game. In the 90th minute, Hertha Berlin was rewarded for their persistence: S. Jovetic scored a consolation goal for his team, which was the only goal they were able to score in this game. Despite Herta's late goal, Hoffenheim came out victorious thanks to their dominant play in the first half. It was a game of two halves, but Hoffenheim's excellent start was enough to win. The game was a testament to the intensity and unpredictability that the Bundesliga is known for, and both teams played heartily until the final whistle.
In the next round, the rivals are waiting for the following matches: Werder - Hoffenheim, Freiburg - Hertha.
