The head coach of the Italian national team complained about the lack of future Italian talent in Serie A, especially paying attention to the center forward position.

Aside from Lazio's Ciro Immobile, who is currently injured, there are no Italian strikers in the top 10 scorers in Serie A this season. This has forced Mancini to look for options in other leagues, including 19-year-old Leeds forward Wilfried Gnonto, Freiburg's Vincenzo Grifo and West Ham's Gianluca Scamacca.
