A non-country called russia, expelled from all international soccer tournaments as a terrorist country immediately after the attack on Ukraine, is attempting to climb out of this isolation.
According to Denis Rogachev, deputy secretary general of the Russian Football Union (RFU), talks are underway with FIFA and UEFA about opportunities for Russian teams to return to international tournaments.
"The activities of the Russian national team are not frozen. It has suffered a lot, we are not experiencing an influx of people who want to play with us. This is a very difficult negotiation process. Negotiations are underway to participate in the Central Asian Football Association championship in June.
We retained corporate rights to participate in FIFA and UEFA. We are negotiating with our colleagues to return to the competition in stages," TASS quoted Rogachev as saying.
