Former England striker Wayne Rooney has congratulated Tottenham forward Harry Kane on becoming the best scorer in the history of the national team.
"He is now the best scorer in the England national team. I knew it wouldn't take long, but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly. A great man, an incredible striker and an England legend. Congratulations, Harry!" Rooney wrote on his Twitter page.
It will be recalled that Kane scored his 54th goal for England in the Euro 2024 qualifying match with Italy (2:1), becoming the absolute record holder.
