Anatolii Trubin: "Five saves? Seven would have been better"

The VZbirna Telegram channel provides a post-match commentary from London by Ukraine goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin.

Anatoly Trubin

You have five saves. Would you agree with such statistics?

- It is what it is.

- Maybe you counted more or less?

- It would be better if it was seven.

- Some portals give you the highest score. It's not easy to counter such offensive stars. Were you afraid of Kane?

- It was not that I was afraid of anyone. Of course, Kane is one of the best or the best striker in the world right now. Moreover, he scored more than anyone else in the history of the England national team. I had to prepare well.

- The plan was to act through a short pass. It's a common thing for you. What failed and why?

- I think that, perhaps, there were not enough long passes to the other half of the field behind the backs of the defenders. Maybe then we needed to open up more. It was the first game with this tactic for some of us, so it was difficult, but there were good moments when we played well. If we can play with teams like England, we will improve with every match, every training camp.

We will better understand when a short pass is needed and when to play in the zone. I believe that in the next matches we will play more offensively and have more chances and goals.
