nfielder of Dynamo Kyiv Volodymyr Shepelev commented after the team's training session on Wednesday, March 29.
Today the team trained again in the new gym. What are your impressions, have you gotten used to it?
- The gym is very cool, modern, and has a lot of exercise equipment. We have two physical training coaches, and we do everything they say. There are new machines that we didn't have in the gym we used to work out in. Everything is demonstrated, we do everything. I like it very much!
- Do you feel very tired when you have a training session in the gym and then work on the pitch?
- Yes, it feels like a training camp. Usually, we train both in the gym and on the field during the training camp. We didn't usually do this during the championship, but now we play once a week, so we have time for these exercises.
- In the next round, Dynamo will play Lviv. Given that our team had a bad result in the last match and we, as always, only need a win, what is your attitude before the game?
- The players always get ready for matches, there is no problem with that. We just did not expect such a result in the Ukrainian championship. We expected to fight for the first place, but it turns out that we lost in the first game, and then again. Of course, you start thinking, looking for problems and their causes. You try to fix it, but when you fail again, you don't feel very good psychologically.
- Still, the team's goal is the same: to win and move up the table?
- Of course, we want to rehabilitate ourselves for the failures and try to squeeze the most out of all the remaining games. Because we have a task to play in European competitions, to get to the Champions League. This is the main task, and I think we can fight for it.
- A more personal question. This season, the team has another person in your position, Justin Lonwijnck. You have been training and playing together for some time now. How do you compete with him?
- Normal competition, like with everyone else. In general, I can now play one match as a fullback, the second one higher up, the third one on the wing. It's a little unusual, but I always try and will try to do everything the coaching staff asks of me.
- In what aspects of the game do you feel you are better than Justin, and in what aspects does he outperform you?
- It's more for the coach to see, I can't say. In some ways he is better, in others I am. It's not that important. What's important now is to win, that's my main football desire.
