Ukrainian midfielder Valery Fedorchuk, who recently decided to end his professional career as a football player, recalled how he ended up in Dynamo Kiev. The midfielder played in the capital club from February 2016 to August 2017.
“When I finished a long treatment after an injury, I turned to agent Vadim Shabliy with a request, knowing that he had access to Dynamo. I told him that I myself am from Kyiv, and now I need to keep in shape with someone. It doesn't matter which team - with "youth team", "double" or even with younger ones. It was important for me to start working with the ball.
As a result, I arrive in Kyiv. There were no agreements then, but I had a meeting with Dynamo President Igor Surkis, after which I signed a contract.
I think my prospects at Dynamo were very good. But I just recovered from a serious injury (cruciate ligament), and I needed to return to the training process smoothly. And in Dynamo, no one has time to swing. As soon as I score, I play a match, I feel discomfort, and I fall out for a couple of days. Just recovered, and everything repeats again.
It was a crumpled period. But at the initial stage, when I just started training with Dynamo in the general group, Raul often approached me (assistant to Sergei Rebrov in the Dynamo coaching staff - ed.) and said: "I'm surprised! You understand our game structure very well.” I was tried in different positions. And at each I understood what was required of me, understood all the requirements of the coaches who were surprised by this: they told me that many of them, who had been on the team for two years, did not understand how to play.
I came to Dynamo in February, and there was an agreement that the decision on further cooperation would be made in the summer. We extended the contract, and I have already started the new season in the team in full. It was a good period. But then he got a meniscus injury. After which I no longer received a full-fledged game practice. As a result, I myself took the initiative to leave Dynamo. Because my main desire was to play. Even if not in such a famous team. The football player must play. That alone brings him a smile.
I am grateful to Dynamo that the club invited me then, despite the risk. I think that I helped the team in many matches," Fedorchuk said in a comment to the Rukh club media, which became the last club in the football player's career.
