However, it was Pereira who opened the scoring in the 56th minute, putting the guests ahead with an accurate finish. Literally three minutes later, Crystal Palace equalized, but not in the way we would like. The canopy from the right flank fell on the defender D. Iversen and flew off into his own goal. Leicester then made another substitution with L. Thomas replacing Christiansen before being booked through H. Suttara.
As the game approached the final stage, Leicester made one last substitution, bringing in P. Duck in place of C. Iheanacho. Crystal Palace also made two more substitutions, with J. Schlupp and O. Edouard replacing W. Hughes and J. Mateta, respectively. Both teams received yellow cards: E. Eze, M. Gay and J. Mateta were booked for Crystal Palace and C. Dewsbury-Hall and Wilfred Ndidi for Leicester. The decisive moment of the match came in the 90th minute, when substitute J. Mateta caught the ball in the net and sent it into the net, exciting the fans of the home team. The French striker then received a yellow card in stoppage time, but it did not matter - Crystal Palace kept the coveted three points. Both teams played with great drive and determination, but it was Crystal Palace who ended up victorious in a tight match. The result will give a much-needed boost to Vieira's side, who have been looking to climb up the Premier League table.
