Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink commented on Mikhail Mudrik's unsuccessful match against Aston Villa (0-2 defeat):
“He needs time. He didn't convert a very good chance, it's true. But just because he was paid 88 million doesn't mean he's already a mature player. This does not mean that he will always score. He shot badly, but Mudrik must have the right to make a mistake in order to continue developing and starting over.
Mudrik is not to blame for paying so much for him. So the club decided. He did not convert this moment, and should have shot better. It is clear that Mudryk is a flank player, he is not used to finding himself in such scoring situations. Therefore, he needs to be in them more often in order to work on this aspect of his game and feel more comfortable.
Mudrik needs to be given time, he is a young player. Only time will tell if his transfer price was justified. Mudrik has potential, he needs to work on moments like this,” Hasselbaink said.
