Review of the match Newcastle - Man. United:
On a chilly evening in the Premier League, Newcastle hosted Manchester United in front of a crowded crowd in St James's Park. The match started off at a slow pace, with both teams playing cautiously, seemingly feeling their way into the game. The score of the first half ended with the score 0:0, and there was not much to say about it. However, the game exploded in the second half when Manchester United made two quick substitutions just past the hour mark. Anthony and W. Weghorst came on for J. Sancho and A. Martial, respectively. But, unfortunately for the Red Devils, it was Newcastle who struck first, with J. Willock scoring in the 65th minute. The Toon Army quickly made two substitutions of their own, with A. Saint-Maximin and J. Murphy replacing Jolinton and A. Gordon, respectively. While Newcastle presented new fixtures, the visitors looked to their bench to turn the game around.
"Newcastle" continued to put pressure on the defense of "Manchester United", and in the 80th minute instead of C. Wilson came A. Isak. The guests responded with two substitutions of their own: instead of Fred and F. Pellistry, S. McTominay and L. Martinez came out. However, the replacements did not bring the dividends that Manchester United expected, and things went from bad to worse for them. At the 84th minute R. Varan replaced V. Lindelof, but it was too late. Newcastle had already pulled off a surprise disappointment with seven minutes left in the match, replacing J. Willock with A. Anderson. The icing on the cake came in the 88th minute when K. Wilson hit the net, ending the match with Newcastle United - Manchester United 2-0. The Magpies took their third win of the season and put themselves out of fear of an early relegation. Manchester United's title hopes have been hit hard, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side six points behind league leaders Chelsea.
In the next round, the opponents are waiting for such matches: Brentford - Newcastle, Man. United - Everton.
