Salernitana - Inter match review:
The Serie A match between Salernitana and Inter took place at the Arechi Stadium. An exciting comeback in the second half saw the match end in a 1-1 draw. Inter dominated possession early in the game and created several chances. Six minutes later, Inter opened the scoring thanks to a goal by Robin Gossens, who hit his opponent's goal with a free kick. Salernitan tried to counterattack but failed to create any clear-cut chances. As the first half progressed, Inter seemed to control the game, while Salernitan struggled to keep up the pace. In the 34th minute, Inter's Stefan de Vrij received a yellow card for a foul on a Salernitana player. Soon after, Salernitana's Lamine Coulibaly also received a warning from the referee. At halftime, Salernitana made a substitution, releasing Djibril Bronn instead of Boulaye Dia. This substitution seemed to work wonders as Salernitana started to look more attacking and determined early in the second half. Salernitana made two more substitutions in the 65th minute, with Lorenzo Pirola and Holland Nicolussi Caviglia. Inter, on the other hand, made the first substitution, releasing Joaquin Correa in place of Lautaro Martinez in the 66th minute.
Nicolo Barella and Roberto Gagliardini were replaced by Matias Brozovic and Christoffer Aslani shortly afterwards, respectively. Salernitana's Thierry Villena received a yellow card in the 70th minute, and the pressure on the hosts increased. Inter also made a substitution: Robin Gosens was replaced by Federico Dimarco in the 75th minute, but could not affect the match. Salernitana made one last substitution, replacing Emil Bohinen with Wilena, while both teams replaced their fifth and final players. Gianluca Castanos came on for Salernitana in the 85th minute, while Romelu Lukaku was replaced by Edin Dzeko for Inter. As the match drew to a close, Inter's Roberto Gagliardini was sent off in the 89th minute for a failed tackle, but even though the game seemed to be heading for an Inter win, Salernitana found an opportunity to tie the game thanks to Antonio Candreva in the last minute of regular time. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, and both teams were left pondering what could have been. Overall, it was an interesting match between two competitive teams. Inter will regret the missed opportunities in the second half, while Salernitan will be pleased with their resilience.
In the next round, the following matches await the opponents: Torino - Salernitana, Inter - Monza.
