Former Dynamo and Ukraine national team forward Artem Kravets told about the worst moment in his career, and also shared his thoughts about Dynamo president Igor Surkis.
- What was the worst moment of your career?
- It was the period when Sergey Rebrov just arrived, was the acting head coach. The last game of the season (2013/14 - note), which decided nothing.
I did not play the whole season. I don't remember, I played for the double at the time... And Rebrov let Igor Kharatin out when he was still in the double, but he didn't let me out. And I thought: "It's that bad.
My contract was expiring. I came home then, locked myself in my room and did not leave it for about a day. I didn't want anything. After a while I met with my agent and he told me that I didn't have any offers.
When I drove to the meeting with Igor Mikhailovich I did not know what was going to happen. Everything before that was just bottom. The worst moment.
- What did Igor Mikhailovich say at the meeting?
- We extended the contract for one year on the same terms. We agreed that I go to the training camp and Rebrov will decide whether he needs me. And after that training camp was my best season.
- Is Ihor Surkis a good or a bad president?
- If you look from my point of view, the way he acted with me in that situation, he is a very good man.
But from his point of view, as president, he invested some money in me, paid my salary and, perhaps, he expected that I would play something and could sell me.
I don't know his opinion, but in that story, it was the last chance for me and I'm very thankful for that.
