"Why is the Ukrainian trade union silent?" - Eugene Levchenko stood up for Chervak, who pushed a woman referee

Former midfielder of the Ukraine national soccer team and a well-known Dutch soccer functionary Yevhen Levchenko shared his thoughts about the situation with half-year disqualification of the now former defender of Zhytomyr Poles'ka Vadim Chervak, who during a match of the first league with Zaporizhzhya Metallurg, pushed in the back of a female referee of that meeting Sofia Prychina. Recall, along with the verdict of the CDC UAF, the player also lost his job: "Polesie" broke his contract.

- Vadim Chervak was actually suspended for six months for pushing a female referee, is this punishment commensurate with his action?

- I understand that this situation is very difficult, because when a player can not hold his temper and pushes the referee of the meeting - for this should be punished in full. But I would like to say that six months is very, very much. It's a lot, too much as far as I'm concerned.

I understand that this is such a harsh punishment, so that no one else from the players did such actions, but I hope that Vadim Chervak wasn`t involved in any fights or something like that. So for me, when they take six months away from a player that he can't play, that's a lot.

- Okay, no questions - the CDC has the right to punish the offender. But Chervak was punished twice for that act - "Polesye" unilaterally terminated his contract...

- I do not understand how the club could tear his contract? No, I can understand that they do not want to have nothing to do with such a player. But in my mind, the club needs to stand up for the player. To say, "Okay, we understand that you did a very unfortunate thing, but you apologized, and we will support you."

- Before contacting you, we tried to contact the Ukrainian players' union, but they did not want to comment on the situation. It seems that in this situation Chervak will have to rely only on his own strength. Do you think that this case is already finished or the punishment will be reviewed?

- I do not understand why the Ukrainian Footballers' Union of Ukraine did not comment on this case. Once again: yes, what Chervak did was very bad, but six months is a very long time for a soccer player. We are not saying that his career is ruined, but six months for a soccer player is a very long time.

I hope that some more circumstances will be considered and the player will appeal this decision. That's my personal opinion, because I know how the player feels, how hard it is for him. We all know that after such cases, many clubs will not take such a player to their club. I saw that he apologized, and he did it from the heart. I hope that the punishment will be less severe and such incidents on his part will never happen again.
