RFU Secretary General: "UEFA wants us to stay

Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFS) Maxim Mitrofanov spoke out about the possible flight of Russian soccer to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Recall that in the first days after the Russian attack on Ukraine, FIFA and UEFA expelled Russian clubs and national teams from all international tournaments.

"UEFA wants us to stay. A deadline by Asia and UEFA decision? There is no word deadline. It is, after all, the line, whether you crossed it or not. The line was December 31. Now we have a lot more time, because UEFA does not have such rigidity. On the whole set of issues we are now negotiating with UEFA, FIFA, that anything can happen. Today they are all rigidly conservative and say: let's wait, and tomorrow they will say: let's admit someone. We're fighting to make it happen as early as possible.

Initially, the ban for us is indefinite. Until a special order, so there are no deadlines. This is also bad, because when you don't know how much you make your plans, no matter how negative they were, it's harder to make them. It's like having a forced leave of absence at work, with nothing to pay, but for two years. And then they say, "Listen, you come over there, give me a call once in a while."

It would have been better if they hadn't made that decision. I think they made it too quickly. And they are now hostages of this situation," Mitrofanov said.

Не знаю, что хочет УЄФА, а нормальные люди хотят чтобы вы остались в своем болоте.
