It will be recalled that in the away match against Chelsea, Federico Valverde scored a masterful assist to Rodrigo, and his team won 2-0. In the competition for this award, Federico Valverde beat Rafael Leau of AC Milan, Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan and Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City.
The previous winner of this award was Manchester City defender John Stones.
