Almeria and Athletic Club faced off in an exciting La Liga match at the Power Horse Stadium - Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos. Athletic took the lead in the first half, scoring a goal in the 9th minute thanks to a goal from N. Williams. Almeria fought back as hard as they could, but failed to hit the box, ending the first half with a score of 0-1. In the second half, Athletic took an even stronger lead and O. de Marcos scored in the 56th minute to bring the score to 0-2. Almeria was quick to react and replaced A. Puigmal with A. Embarba in the 56th minute. This substitution breathed new life into the home team which began to move forward relentlessly, leading to a goal by A. Sentelles on 90 minutes. But it was too late: Athletic kept the lead and won the match 1:2.
In the second half, both teams made several substitutions, trying to gain the upper hand. I. Williams was replaced by A. Berenguer in the 46th minute for Athletic Club, while Almeria released G. Melero instead of Lazaro in the 64th minute, Leo Baptistao instead of F. Portillo in the 64th minute, S. Babic instead of A. Pozo in the 74th minute and L. Suarez instead of D. Souza in the same minute. Yellow cards were also issued during the match: O. Sunset received one for Athletic in the 21st minute and O. Zarraga in the 65th minute. R. Eli of Almeria also received a yellow card in the 68th minute, followed by A. Berenguer and M. Vesga of Athletic Club and A. Pozo of Almeria in the 90th minute. The match was exciting and showcased the impressive skill of both teams in their struggles on the field. Although Athletic Club emerged victorious, Almeria put up strong resistance and chased their opponents until the very end.
