Former Romanian national team defender Gabriel Tamas recalled an episode when he worked together with current Dynamo Kyiv coach Mircea Lucescu.
- I trained at Rapid with Mircea Lucescu as coach. We were training with an expanded squad, and one of us was Dasculescu from Ploiesti. I heard Mircea tell him: "I invited you here because I believe in your qualities. I have given you two chances. I will give you a third chance, but I can't give players more than three chances. Prove it to me! If you don't prove it, goodbye! I'll give chances to someone else!" - Tamas told the Romanian media.
