Germany's head coach Hans-Dieter Flick commented on his team's preparation plan for the June friendlies, one of which will take place on 12 June against Ukraine in Bremen.
- "We will play this special match against Ukraine, and then we will face two more strong opponents in sparring matches - Poland and Colombia. In these friendlies, we want to build on what the team showed in the second half of the friendly against Belgium (2:3 - ed.).
The first half-hour showed that we still have a lot of work to do to reach the European Championship final. But if the team learns the lesson and plays like we did over the next 60 minutes, defending strongly and going forward boldly, the fans will support us and the whole stadium will be with us. We felt that support very clearly in Cologne and we want to take that momentum with us for the next three games," said Flick.
