On 26 April, one of the matches of the 33rd round of the English football championship took place. West Ham (London) and Liverpool (England) met.

The match between West Ham United and Liverpool at the London Stadium was an exciting one. Both teams had a lot to play for as they looked to move up the Premier League standings. West Ham started the game brightly, with L. Paquette scoring in the 12th minute. It was a brilliant strike from the West Ham midfielder, who received the ball outside the box and curled it into the top corner. Liverpool's goalkeeper had no chance. However, Liverpool quickly responded with a K. Gakpo goal in the 18th minute. It was a well worked team goal as Liverpool passed the ball around the West Ham defence and then Gakpo finished the goal with a low shot into the corner of the goal. West Ham had a chance to take the lead again in the 55th minute when J. Bowen scored. However, the goal was cancelled out due to offside. It was a controversial decision as Bowen was offside after receiving the ball.
Liverpool then made two substitutions in the 59th minute, releasing J. Henderson and Diogo Iota in place of Thiago and L. Diaz respectively. The changes proved to be effective and Liverpool took the lead on 67 minutes thanks to a goal from J. Matip. The centre-back stepped up high and headed the ball into the net from a corner. West Ham tried to reply by fielding M. Antonio and S. Benrahma in place of D. Ings and M. Corne respectively. However, Liverpool defended well and managed to hold on to their lead. Liverpool then made two more substitutions in the 78th and 84th minutes, replacing D. Nunez with C. Gakpo and K. Jones were replaced by J. Milner respectively. These substitutions helped Liverpool bring the game to an end and clinch the win. All in all, it was an excellent match between two competitive teams. Liverpool's substitutions played a key role in their win, giving them an extra attacking threat and helping to defend their lead. West Ham will be disappointed with the defeat, but they can be proud of their efforts against a strong Liverpool team.
